APRIL 17th 12:00-1:30PM EST
This course goes beyond basic ADA definitions to focus on the therapist’s clinical role in identifying functional limitations, translating symptoms into job-relevant language, and supporting reasonable accommodation requests within scope of practice. Participants will learn documentation best practices, clinical wording that aligns with employer and HR standards, and how to avoid common pitfalls that delay or derail accommodation approvals.
Through templates, case examples, and real-world scenarios, therapists will gain the skills needed to advocate effectively—without providing legal advice—so clients can remain employed, protected, and supported while managing their mental health.
All registrations are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend the live training for any reason, you will still receive a PDF of the training materials and resources.
This training is not yet eligible for CEUs.

This training provides licensed therapists with a clear, practical understanding of how to ethically and effectively support clients seeking Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Short-Term Disability (STD) related to mental health conditions. Participants will learn how to assess clinical severity, functional impairment, and treatment needs to determine when intermittent or continuous leave may be clinically appropriate.
This course demystifies medical leave documentation, clarifies the therapist’s role in the process, and addresses common pitfalls that delay or jeopardize approvals. Through clinical examples and documentation guidance, therapists will gain confidence completing forms within scope of practice and collaborating appropriately with employers and third-party administrators.
