Counseling (therapy) focuses on emotional and mental health, helping you make sense of past and present experiences, reduce distress, and build a greater sense of safety and empowerment in your life. It may address concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relational patterns, or life transitions. Counseling is a clinical service that follows state regulations, may involve diagnosis, and is often covered by insurance.

Coaching is future-focused and centers on personal or professional growth. It helps you clarify goals, build skills, and create meaningful change in areas like leadership, confidence, career transitions, work–life balance, and communication. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health disorders and is typically self-pay.

There are many times when counseling and coaching naturally intersect, especially for people navigating trauma histories within demanding personal or professional environments. When someone is healing from trauma or chronic stress, challenges may show up at work in the form of burnout, conflict, perfectionism, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling unsafe advocating for their needs.

With a therapist who has both trauma training and a strong HR and leadership background, clients often benefit from an integrated approach:

supporting emotional healing, while also building skills and confidence to navigate personal and professional relationships, boundaries and dynamics more effectively.

This trauma-informed, whole-person perspective honors that healing is not just about coping—it’s also about reclaiming agency, self-trust, and voice in the spaces where you live and work.

Yes. Virtual online or Telehealth sessions are available through secure HIPAA complaint software platforms, allowing you to meet from the comfort of your own home or office.

The first session focuses on understanding your current concerns, goals and history. We will explore what brought you in, gather background information, and begin shaping your treatment or coaching plan.

Sessions are typically 50–55 minutes, and frequency varies (weekly or biweekly) based on your goals, needs, and schedule. I tell all my clients, “You own the timeline,” meaning you have full ownership over how often you attend sessions based on your priorities, availability, and what feels most supportive in your life.

We will collaborate to determine a pace that feels sustainable and aligned with your goals, and you are always welcome to increase or decrease frequency as your needs change.
